COCOKNITS Accessories
We love COCOKNITS accessories! “Why?” you might ask yourself. Here’s the answer in a nutshell: they are terrific! We love the quality, the array of colors, the cleverness of the designs, and the fact that they’re made as sustainably as possible.
Peace Fleece
Peace Fleece yarn is a story of how two people sought to promote peace and understanding between historic enemies.

Holiday Knitting: Modern Warmer
It’s the end of August and we are beginning to think about holiday knitting! A sample popped out at me when I was in the shop the other day that would make a soft, cozy, absolutely perfect gift for a special someone.
What the Heck is a Hank?
Recently I came across a Very Pink YouTube video that is titled “Skein, Ball, Hank, Cake”. I was immediately interested because I wasn’t sure of the difference between a skein and a hank. Now I know and I’ll pass that along to you!
Trilogy Yarn Trunk Show is Here!
My Sister Knits is hosting a trunk show of Trilogy Yarns! Some trunk shows are samples of items knit with a certain yarn. Others have unique yarn that can be purchased. This is the latter kind! The yarn we have will be available to snap up for your own until it’s time to send it all back.
Playful Polka Dot Yarn
Polka Dot Sheep yarn is now displayed on the My Sister Knits ‘New Wall’! Turn to the left as soon as you enter the shop and you can’t miss it!
We have two yarn bases, Super G and Rime. A yarn base consists of two parts: the weight of the yarn and the fiber/s that the yarn is made of. Independent dyers choose the base fiber they like and then work their color magic with their dyes.
Gossamer-like Schnee!
Schnee, a bewitching rectangular wrap designed by Melanie Berg, is an ethereal, light-as-a-feather accessory! Schnee (‘snow’ in German) has been on display at My Sister Knits for a few months and is like a beacon for me.
Love It bags from Amsterdam!
Love It bags have arrived at My Sister Knits from Amsterdam! We are one of only four shops in the world to carry them. The others are Stephen and Penelope in Amsterdam, Zauberwiese in Denmark, and Do Ewe Knit in New Jersey. You know you’re getting something out of the ordinary when you purchase one of these!
Earl Grey Fiber Co, 'Make it So'
My Sister Knits has a new addition to our thoughtfully selected yarns! This yarn has all of us oohing and aahing over it. We often stop when we’re passing it and let our eyes skim the remarkable colorways, trying to decide our favorite.
Exquisite Sheer V Sweater
A grand discovery was made one night around the table at Knit Night! Knitters were searching on Ravelry and found Jessie Mae Martinson’s Sheer V Sweater design. One thing led to another and now we have a sample in the shop!
Bags Aplenty!
Bags! As we gather our belongings to venture out into the world more, we might notice that we’d like to update a few items. My Sister Knits has a unique selection of bags of many sizes to brighten things up and fill various needs.
Moonstruck Wrap
Moonstruck Wrap is Julie’s latest find and the shop’s latest passion! Designed by Heidi May of The Velvet Acorn, this shawl is My Sister Knits’ newest must-knit project.
Worldwide Knit in Public Day!
The second Saturday of June has been Worldwide Knit in Public Day since 2005. This is the largest annual knitting event whose purpose is to share in the joy of knitting and other fiber arts.
Are You Using the Right Knitting Needle for Your Project?
When starting a new project, how much do you consider your needles? Our needles are important tools that deserve some thought.
Our goal is to knit as comfortably as possible for as many years as possible. Toward that end, we should intentionally choose our needles with our project in mind.
Get Campy!
Shibui Knits introduced their brand new sister company Camp Color this week! My Sister Knits has a trunk show with many samples so you can see for yourself the fun, lively, and impertinent interpretations of the term ‘camp’.
Two Color Garter Stitch Scarf
At My Sister Knits we are still wanting projects that require little concentration. We are excited that things are opening up and the Covid restrictions are easing but our minds need time to recover from the stressors of the last many months.
Fortunately, Jess Guy has designed a lovely, easily wearable scarf that fits the bill! This scarf uses two colors and is a squishy garter stitch. It starts with a cast on of three stitches. The only techniques required are knowing how to increase and decrease!
