A New Sample with a Special Yarn!
My Sister Knits has a new sample on display knit with an often overlooked yarn for you! Decisions, decisions, do I tell you about the yarn first or the sample? I’ll go with the yarn which is from Wooldreamers.
Woolstok’s Big Sister
First there was Blue Sky Fibers Woolstok Worsted. A workhorse of a yarn available in so many colors, perfect for children’s and adult garments and accessories. It is a go-to mainstay of many knitters’ preferred yarns.
Teeny Weeny Beanie
If you haven’t seen the Teenie Weenie Beanie video, watch this before you read on! It will have you laughing and dancing in your seat! Fortunately, the knitting world takes note of such things and Jean-Philippe Cliche was inspired to design a Teenie Weenie Beanie based on this video!
Do This First
Have you ever wanted to make a particular project but felt it was beyond your ability so you gave up on it? However, you kept thinking about it and couldn’t get it out of your mind? That type of project falls into the category of ‘one day’ projects; projects that you want to make one day but not right now.
Diana's Cowl
My Sister Knits has our very own fingering weight cowl pattern for your knitting pleasure! Actually, it’s Diana’s brainchild so we have named it Diana’s Cowl!
One Shawl and Three Publications!
My Sister Knits has a sample of an impressive colorwork shawl in the shop! This shawl looks quite complicated due to the colorwork patterns used.
Let's Get Going!

Jump On the Sophie Scarf Bandwagon!
What is so great about Sophie? I’m not quite sure where to start! In no particular order, here’s why we like it so, so much!
Go On A Treasure Hunt!
My Sister Knits is full of treasures! Often we stick to what we know and love which can become monotonous. To avoid monotony, there are lovely, noteworthy delights that await our discovery!
Caitlin Hunter's Latest!
My Sister Knits is super lucky to have a sample of Caitlin Hunter’s latest pattern in the shop! As of this writing, the pattern is due to be published this week and you can see this stunning sweater on display now!
This and That
My Sister Knits has been on the waiting list to stock Hide and Hammer bags from England for quite some time. After patiently waiting for what seems like forever, we finally have these lovelies on our shelves!
On Shawls and Socks
Last week we featured the shawl Tiny Tassels. This week we’re bringing your attention to two more shawls that are airy and loosely knit, just the thing you need for summer! Whether you’re vacationing in a cooler climate or enjoying a meal in an air-conditioned restaurant, it’s always good to have a shawl tucked away in a handy place.
Tiny Tassels!
My Sister Knits has a new sample for you to enjoy! Just in this week, a darling shawlette called Tiny Tassels is gracing the shop. Last seen on the wall by the community table, who knows where it will travel to in the shop?
Lazy Hiker
For today’s knitting pleasure, My Sister Knits brings you Laura Debratz’s Lazy Hiker Shawl. A few people from our Get Back to Knitting class were oohing and aahing over this shawl the other day.
Short Rows, Not So Scary After All!
Oh my goodness, does My Sister Knits have a shawl for you! I saw this when I walked into the shop on Tuesday and immediately knew I had to write about it! I now want to drop the sweater I’m working on and cast on for this delectable beauty!
Color-Choosing Tips for Colorwork
Colorwork! Oh, the fun! There are an array of techniques that use different colors in one project: blocks of color, stripes, mosaic, stranded, intarsia, entrelac. All of these will give your project visual interest and it’s so pleasing to watch the design unfold!
New Year, New Projects!
January is full of promise and enthusiasm! We get to look at what we want our next twelve months to bring us and how we want them to unfold. It’s an exciting time of anticipation in regard to our knitting!
Crunching Leaves Cowl
My Sister Knits presents the softest, warmest, prettiest cowl ever! In addition, it is quick to knit and a perfect gift! Carol had this on the other day and I immediately fell in love.
It's Shawl Season!
As I sit down to write this, it’s blowing a gale outside! The leaves have been so pretty this year but most of them are on the ground now. The daytime temps are dropping fast, autumn is truly here, and I’m thinking of which cozy shawl I want to knit!
