Have you ever wanted to make a particular project but felt it was beyond your ability so you gave up on it? However, you kept thinking about it and couldn’t get it out of your mind? That type of project falls into the category of ‘one day’ projects; projects that you want to make one day but not right now.

My Sister Knits constantly has yarn, books, and samples added or restocked. If you’ve ever witnessed a UPS shipment arriving at the shop, you’ve seen first-hand the excitement that comes with it. It’s always fun to open those boxes!

Today I’m going to tell you the story of a hat I just finished for my son. When I reached the decreases for the crown I was not at all happy with how they looked. 

Pernille Larsen was a first-time grandma who lived in Copenhagen and was, of course, a knitter. She wasn’t content just knitting for that dear little babe, oh no! She started designing for her!

Julie has found us another intriguing yarn! KAOS from Denmark is our newest addition.  And, yes, it’s pronounced just like its English counterpart, chaos, and has the same meaning.

KAOS is quite popular in European countries, especially Germany and Denmark. We are the only local yarn shop that carries it in the entire middle of the US!

The first one is Patty Lyons’ Knitting Bag of Tricks.  It is as useful for experienced knitters as it is for beginners! This book is actually mind-blowing! 

My Sister Knits has our very own fingering weight cowl pattern for your knitting pleasure!  Actually, it’s Diana’s brainchild so we have named it Diana’s Cowl!

My Sister Knits has an absolutely stunning new yarn!

My Sister Knits has a sample of an impressive colorwork shawl in the shop! This shawl looks quite complicated due to the colorwork patterns used.

Any yarn from The Fibre Co. is amazing to knit with. When you pick up a skein and squish it, you immediately want some for yourself!

This week I have been dealing with a broken thumb and two pins that were inserted to ensure proper healing. I had no idea that my ability to type would be severely impacted! I found one from Thanksgiving 2020 that is still relevant today and have posted it below. The only difference is that we now have a greater variety of candles in the shop!

What is so great about Sophie? I’m not quite sure where to start! In no particular order, here’s why we like it so, so much!

Let’s have some fun! I’ve been around My Sister Knits in the fall for years and have seen the Christmas stockings that people knit. I’ve admired them but have never wanted to knit one myself. I’ve had several hesitations about making them: I don’t knit socks, they’d take too much time while I was finishing other gifts, I was too busy otherwise, you get the picture!

My Sister Knits is full of treasures! Often we stick to what we know and love which can become monotonous. To avoid monotony, there are lovely, noteworthy delights that await our discovery!
