This week, My Sister Knits would like to bring your attention to knitting accouterments, aka the things that make knitting easier or more fun!

We have a new shipment of Coco Knits tools and accessories! Besides adoring their tools, we love that they make everything as sustainable and with as little an environmental impact as possible.  Have you ever used their measuring tape and found that it didn’t lock? That’s because the gadget that holds it in place is made of plastic and they are committed to using as little plastic as possible!

We have CocoKnits markers galore in a variety of colors, shapes, and sizes! In case you’re wondering, they are not plastic, they have a steel base with a nylon coating!

Their oh-so-cute 3” long emery boards have myriad uses from filing snagged nails to removing small pills from delicate yarn to sharpening the tip of your pencil or needle!

The Fuzz Off Comb looks like an old-fashioned shaving tool which adds to the fun of using it!

Stitch stoppers were included in our shipment! We’ve never had one fall off of our needles…..unless it was the wrong size, of course!

Candles help create a cozy ambiance especially while you’re knitting! There are usually a few burning in the shop! We do love our Tatine candles! They’re made from high-grade perfumery oils and pure essential oils, using soy and vegetable-based waxes. They have what’s called a large ‘fragrance throw’ which is how well the scent travels through air to fill a space. Even better, when your candle is gone, you can use the glass container to drink out of!

Books add to our knitting pleasure in ways both functional and decorative. Kiyomi and Sachiko Burgin, Canadian twin sisters who brought us the Moon and Turtle book, have a new book out, Cosmology. Each of the patterns in this book has design elements that are both distinctive and contemporary.

Pompom has a book of patterns for children, minipom! Many of them are miniature versions of adult patterns that they’ve published over the years. There are 11 patterns in this happy, brightly colored book, from socks to hats and everything in between!

It would be fun to have a pouch to either keep notions in or to use as a gift bag! In the photo is Tori Yu’s Purl Pouch which comes in three sizes.

Give yourself some browsing time in the shop to discover and explore all sorts of knitting paraphernalia!

Happy knitting,
