During our glorious spring days we want to be outside as much as possible! With the sun shining, a gentle breeze, and the flowers scenting the air it feels wonderful to be experiencing it all! One way to do that is to take a walk. A more challenging way to do that is to learn to knit while walking!

We at My Sister Knits are waving a virtual ‘hello’ to all of you out there! Our world has certainly changed in the last few days and will probably change more in the next few days.

One thing that remains steadfast, though, is our stash. Stashes can be filled with sweater quantities of yarn we meant to use, single skeins of gorgeous yarns that we can’t bring ourselves to use, and anything in between. Now is the time to go stash diving for your next project!

My Sister Knits has welcomed a new addition to our yarn family! The Farmer’s Daughter Fibers DK weight Pishkun is joined by its fingering weight relative Soka’pii (pronounced Sue-Cop-E).

Sprigs and Stone yarn comes to us from Alisha in Olympia, Washington. There are so many things we want you to know about this yarn, we hardly know where to start!

We are incredibly happy to be among the first to discover this yarn! It has been available for less than a year and knitters beyond the Pacific Northwest are just becoming aware of it. We are one of three yarn shops in the US to carry it and we imagine that number will increase dramatically as it becomes better known.

Hudson & West is a recently launched yarn company. My Sister Knits considers ourselves quite fortunate to be one of the few yarn shops to offer their yarns to our customers!

My Sister Knits has a beautiful big cozy shawl on display!  It’s the Oaken shawl, designed by Tin Can Knits. The founders of Tin Can Knits, Emily and Alexa, can always be depended on to write clear, concise, easy to follow patterns. 

We said goodbye to one of our own this week.  Our dear beloved Connie Bea ended her fight with pancreatic cancer and is now at peace and not in pain any longer.

Northern Colorado’s newest yarn festival is about to make its appearance! Knoble Yarn Fest will take place Thursday, February 13th through Sunday, February 16th at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center in Greeley! 

We’ve had a few questions lately about swatching in the round.  Today we’re going to give you directions on one way to do it.
