Indie Dyers!
My Sister Knits has something in the works that we can’t wait to show you! Julie has a passion for finding notable yarn from small independent dyers. My Sister Knits is focused on providing breed specific, non superwash, unique yarns to our customers.
Join the KAL Fun with Farmer's Daughter Fibers!
Farmer’s Daughter Fibers is hosting a summer KAL (KnitALong) as a fun way to support Local Yarn Stores (LYS) that carry their yarn! Happily, there will even be prizes at the end!
Shibui Knits for Summer KAL!
My Sister Knits announces our third KAL of this ‘at home’ period, starting as soon as you get your yarn! This is one that will take a little longer to finish but will result in a stunning summer weight poncho! In contrast to our last KAL which created a rather rustic shawl, this poncho is elegant and versatile.
We're Open!
My Sister Knits is delighted to announce that we are open once again! We want all of our customers to stay safe and well and it goes without question that we are following Larimer County’s mandatory practices for retail business opening.
It's Time for Warm Weather Knitting!
Enter linen and cotton, ideal warm weather fibers to knit with. We went on a little treasure hunt around the shop to see what we could find.
Knitting + Walking, Fantastic!
During our glorious spring days we want to be outside as much as possible! With the sun shining, a gentle breeze, and the flowers scenting the air it feels wonderful to be experiencing it all! One way to do that is to take a walk. A more challenging way to do that is to learn to knit while walking!
MSK KAL Pattern Notes
For those of you who are planning to join our Garter Stitch Shawl KAL that starts Tuesday, April 21st, I have created some helpful notes for you!
Join Our Garter Stitch KAL!
My Sister Knits is officially announcing our second KAL of this ‘stay at home’ season! We hope that you will join us in making a garter stitch Faroese Shawl starting next Tuesday, April 21st!
Combining Yarns
Knitting is not an exact science! Sometimes you just have to roll with it. Take for instance the following story:
Horrors! Moths!
What you are about to read is a true story…….it comes to you directly from Jenny’s yarn stash……
Join Our MSK KAL!
My Sister Knits is hosting a KAL (Knit ALong) on Facebook! This will be a fantastic way to keep connected!
Ravelry and Stash Diving!
We at My Sister Knits are waving a virtual ‘hello’ to all of you out there! Our world has certainly changed in the last few days and will probably change more in the next few days.
One thing that remains steadfast, though, is our stash. Stashes can be filled with sweater quantities of yarn we meant to use, single skeins of gorgeous yarns that we can’t bring ourselves to use, and anything in between. Now is the time to go stash diving for your next project!
Pishkun Welcomes Soka'pii!
My Sister Knits has welcomed a new addition to our yarn family! The Farmer’s Daughter Fibers DK weight Pishkun is joined by its fingering weight relative Soka’pii (pronounced Sue-Cop-E).
SPRIGS & Stone
Sprigs and Stone yarn comes to us from Alisha in Olympia, Washington. There are so many things we want you to know about this yarn, we hardly know where to start!
We are incredibly happy to be among the first to discover this yarn! It has been available for less than a year and knitters beyond the Pacific Northwest are just becoming aware of it. We are one of three yarn shops in the US to carry it and we imagine that number will increase dramatically as it becomes better known.
Hudson & West Deep Winter 2020 Collection
Hudson & West is a recently launched yarn company. My Sister Knits considers ourselves quite fortunate to be one of the few yarn shops to offer their yarns to our customers!
Oaken Shawl
My Sister Knits has a beautiful big cozy shawl on display! It’s the Oaken shawl, designed by Tin Can Knits. The founders of Tin Can Knits, Emily and Alexa, can always be depended on to write clear, concise, easy to follow patterns.
