Read About: A Swatching Experience and Color Cards!
When I write each blog post/newsletter for My Sister Knits, I imagine that I’m having a conversation with all of you. Today that conversation covers two topics that are completely unrelated!
Welcome CaMaRose!
My Sister Knits just received a shipment of CaMaRose yarn from Denmark! We can’t wait for you to come in and squish it to find out how luscious it is for yourself!
A Special Shipment from Portugal!
While My Sister Knits likes to carry local and regional yarn, we also like finding international treasures that not many other shops carry.
Simply Stunning Stromboli
My Sister Knits has a new display sample you’re going to want to see! This is a brand new, hot off the presses design from Caitlin Hunter, also known as Boyland Knitworks. Published in July, this pattern already has 157 projects listed on Ravelry!
The Quintet Shawlette - Easy and Fun
My Sister Knits has a gorgeous new shawl that we want to share with you, the Quintet Shawlette designed by Ambah O’Brien.
The Hipster Top, Joji’s Newest!
Today My Sister Knits is continuing with ideas for summer tops. We’ve had this one on display for a few weeks now but the pattern was just released a few days ago. Finally, we can officially tell you about it!
So Much Fun to Be Had!
Today I want to tell you about three things that all tie in together: a book, yarn, and a wool festival. As I was reading Clara Parkes’ book Vanishing Fleece last week, I was so absorbed in it that I want to share it with you!
An Essential Kate Atherly Sock Book!
My Sister Knits now has copies of Kate Atherly’s book Custom Socks: Knit To Fit Your Feet! Kate Atherly is one of my favorite teachers and even before I took a dive into this book I knew it would be fantastic, thorough, and easy to understand. Kate is a mathematician who brings that knowledge and also her years of tech editing sock patterns to this invaluable book.
Learn About Possum Fur!
A few weeks ago I wrote about giving your brain a break with a kit. Today, we’re going to focus on classes and making your brain work by learning something new!
We have a variety of classes in April to choose from:
Scout: A ‘Yarn For the Sake of Yarn’
My Sister Kits just received a shipment of Kelbourne Woolens DK weight Scout! Talk about a squishy yarn!
Scout is from the fleece of Highland sheep in the Peruvian highlands, a cross between Merino and Corriedale. The Corriedale adds strength and durability to the soft Merino.
New Yarns and New Books!
My Sister Knits has new yarn and new books for you! We have all 12 colorways of Julie Asselin’s bulky weight Douillet. We also just unpacked a shipment of her Boucle yarn!
A Cozy Classic Cardi
As I’m sitting here writing this, a cold wind is blowing and the idea of making (and wearing) a straightforward, cozy sweater is most appealing! Isabell Kraemer’s Kallias, published in September, is exactly what’s called for!
This and That
My Sister Knits has a new hat that we’ve fallen in love with! It’s a good job that we have an infinite number of hats that we are allowed to love! Each new sample that comes in seems to fit in that category!
Our new favorite is the Cozy Bliss Hat designed by Pam Sapienza. Published only a few weeks ago in December, this unique hat is destined to become a fun, popular knit!
Joji Locatelli’s Stripy Unicorn
We’ve had a sample at My Sister Knits for a couple of weeks that’s captivated me. It caught my eye when I was in the shop and I finally took it down to look at it closer. The first thing that I noticed was how it felt; it was so lightweight for a sweater! I looked at the tag and it’s Joji Locatelli’s new pattern Stripy Unicorn.
