It’s time to tell you about My Sister Knits’ classes for May and June! We know that many of you are planning your summer schedules and we want to give you plenty of notice. If you want to learn something new, or perhaps brush up on a specific skill (I’m thinking Brioche because I’ve taken 5 Brioche classes!), then take a look at this list of classes. They’re listed in chronological order and the links to sign up are on the class dates.

Learn to Knit

This is offered on Saturdays May 2nd and 9th from 9-10:30 and again in June on the 6th and 13th from 9-10:30. You’ll learn everything you need to get you on your way!

Basic Brioche

What a wonderful squishy stitch this is! And Brioche is fun once you get the hang of it! This is a two session class, on Saturdays May 2nd and 9th from 2-4. You’ll make the Brioche It! cowl, designed by Lesley Anne Robinson.

Classic Sweater

This class is currently filled but if you’d like to get on the wait list just call the shop. It’s also a two session class on Wednesdays May 6th and 13th from 11-1. The pattern is The Classic, designed by Espace Tricot.

Learn to Crochet

You’ll learn the basic crochet stitches while making a washcloth! This is a two session class on Fridays May 8th and 15th from 1-3.

Meditate Cowl

Slipped stitches add a striking detail to this garter stitch cowl designed by Elizabeth Doherty. It’s knit flat and you get to choose darling buttons to give it a personal touch! This is a one session class on Saturday, May 9th from 11-1.

Learn to Knit 2

This is a follow-on class from our basic Learn to Knit class and you can choose to make either the Two By Two Watch Cap, designed by Dayna Scoles or the Cloud Illusions cowl, designed by Elizabeth Smith. This is a two session class offered on Saturdays, May 16th and 23rd and June 20th and 27th from 9 - 10:30.

Ooey Gooey Socks

This sock design by Andrea Mowry is so cute! Previous sock experience is helpful for this class. It’s another two session class, offered on Saturdays, May 16th and 23rd from 11-1.

Knitting Study Hall

Not a class but a time to bring your current project along with questions! This is offered monthly. Saturday May 16th from 1-3 and June 6th from 1-2:30.

Learn to Fix Mistakes

This all important class is on Saturday, May 23rd from 1:30-3! Take it, you’ll love it!

Farnham Tee

A cute summer tee designed by The Knit Purl Girl! This is a great first garment class. You’ll learn everything you need to know about making a tee or sweater. This class will get you started so you’ll feel confident finishing it on your own. It’s a two session class on Wednesdays, June 3rd and 17th from 11-1.

Arched Gusset Mittens

I tried these mittens on and want a pair for myself for next winter! Designed by Purl Soho, these follow the natural curve of your hand and feel so good on! They’re perfect for knitting in the summer because they’re a small project. Another two session class, this is offered on Saturdays, June 6th and 13th from 11-noon.

Sock AMA

This is a lecture/discussion session. Bring your questions, musings, and some needles and yarn if you’d like to try a technique that’s discussed. Saturday, June 20th from 11-1.

Rocketeer Scarf

This unusually designed scarf, by Maxim Cyr, has a modular construction. You only need to be able to cast on, knit, and purl for this and you’ll learn some useful techniques! Saturdays, June 20th and the 27th are the dates for this class, from 2-4.
