Holiday Gift Knitting
It’s that time of year again! At My Sister Knits we are realizing that there are only a few short weeks to get our gift knitting done so we’re carefully considering different projects. We need ones that will fly off our needles! We’re thinking that we aren’t the only ones in this predicament.
Scrappy Garter Stitch Hats
Today, My Sister Knits is giving you a feast for your eyes! Two fun hats have come to our attention!
Both of them use garter stitch; one uses one strand of fingering weight yarn, the other uses two strands of fingering weight yarn held together.
Do This First
Have you ever wanted to make a particular project but felt it was beyond your ability so you gave up on it? However, you kept thinking about it and couldn’t get it out of your mind? That type of project falls into the category of ‘one day’ projects; projects that you want to make one day but not right now.
Cables Galore!
It’s January and cold and My Sister Knits has an abundance of hat samples! This is the ideal time to make a new hat! While you’re at it, make one with cables! Hats are a great way to try out new techniques as they work up quickly and let you try your new skill on something small.
A [Happy] Hat!
A [Happy] Hat is just the thing to use up some of your leftover fingering weight yarn! Melissa Schoenwether designed it and used bulky weight yarn the first time she knit it.
