March Classes
My Sister Knits always has a variety of classes each month; essential skills, fun things to create, and some clinics to learn techniques.
The following is a listing of our classes in March. Scroll through to see if there’s something that piques your interest!
Learn to Knit, Saturdays March 7th & 14th, 9 - 10:30
You’ll start this class as an absolute novice and end it being comfortable with the basics and excited to learn more!
Learn to Knit 2, Saturdays March 21st & 28th, 9 - 10:30
In this class you’ll choose to make either a hat or a cowl, expanding your skills to include pattern reading, knitting in the round, increasing and decreasing and at the end you’ll be ready to make something on your own!
Helical Knitting Clinic, Saturday March 7th, 10 - 11:30
Helical knitting is a way to make one row stripes in the round without having to carry your yarn up the side as you knit. You’ll learn the technique in this clinic and then be able to use it in a project.
Mini Emotional Support Chicken, Saturdays March 7th & 14th, 11 - 1
Now you can take your ESC (Emotional Support Chicken) with you on your daily rounds! If you want a tiny one, choose fingering weight yarn. If you want a larger one, choose worsted weight yarn! You’ll learn some really good techniques for your tool box such as short rows, casting on in the middle of a row, picking up stitches, and the mattress stitch seam.
Learn to Crochet, Saturdays March 7th & 14th, 2 - 4
Like the Learn to Knit class, you’ll arrive a novice and leave knowing the basics! You’ll also come away with a washcloth!
Doodle Coffee Cozy, Saturday March 21st, 11 - 1
If you’ve been curious about colorwork, this is for you! It’s the perfect size for a first colorwork project!
Learn to FIx MIstakes, Saturday March 21st, 2 - 3:30
All knitters make mistakes and, for me, learning how to pick up a dropped stitch was the hardest thing to learn. It took forever! In this class you’ll learn how to fix all sorts of mistakes and come away with much more confidence!
Knitting Study Hall, Saturday March 28th, 2 - 4
This is a time to get help with a project that’s causing problems. Bring it and your questions and you’ll get support and guidance! There are a limited number of spots in this ‘study hall’ to ensure everyone gets the help they need.
