Join Summer Lee’s Colorwork Cuff Club!

Julie has discovered designer Summer Lee’s Colorwork Cuff Club and she’s excited to share it with all sock knitters!

August colorwork cuff from Summer Lee’s Colorwork Cuff Club

Summer Lee is a prolific sock designer and one of My Sister Knits’ favorites. This sock club is going to be so much fun! You’ll get a different colorwork chart each month to use with the base pattern that comes with the Club. You’ll do the colorwork right after you work the cuff, ending before you get to the heel flap, then it’s stockinette for the rest of the sock.

Search Colorwork Cuff Club on Ravelry under ‘patterns’. When you purchase the pattern, you’ll not only get the base sock pattern, you’ll also get a detailed guide and instructions on how to work the chart into the base pattern. Thank goodness for detailed instructions! Summer leaves nothing to wonder about.

Blacker Yarn Bam-boozle Turquoise and Charcoal

The Colorwork Cuff Club starts now, in August, and you’ll get a chart (sometimes two!) every month through next July. If you join after August, you’ll get all of the previous month’s charts. Each month the pattern will be updated in your Ravelry library with the new colorwork chart. If there are any modifications needed to fit the colorwork onto the base pattern, they will be listed along with the new chart. Summer encourages us to read the chart page before casting on! Think about all the times in our lives that we’ve had that same caution: reading a recipe and before taking a test immediately come to mind!

We’re going to have a Colorwork Cuff Club KAL at My Sister Knits! The details are still being ironed out but we think it will be Saturday mornings at 9 once a month, hosted by Erika. It’s always fun to see what yarn and color combinations others have chosen and to knit on the same project with a group of friends, old and new!

You don’t have to wait for the KAL before you join the Colorwork Cuff Club though. You can also start going through your carefully curated collection of yarn, referred to in some circles as a stash, to find bits and pieces of leftovers that would work perfectly for the colorwork portions of your socks!

We also have minis galore that will fit that need, and some sock yarn with subtle glitter that might speak to you! Come on in and, as always, we’ll either let you browse or help you with your decision, whatever is your preference!

Happy knitting,
