The My Sister Knits community is highly anticipating our upcoming delivery of Re:Designed project bags and needle organizers. Re:Designed is a Danish company whose motto is “consume less, buy better”. Danish design has a few foundational principles. They believe that objects should be both beautiful and useful, creating a balance of form and function. Danish designers value natural materials chosen for their durability and the way they age. Long lasting items are greatly valued.

Re:Designed creates luxurious leather goods for fiber artists, including project bags and needle organizers. Items are hand-crafted using 100% leather sourced from animals in the meat industry to ensure the leather is organic and the animals are ethically treated. Their leather is buttery soft and will become more beautiful, developing a smooth sheen, with use. When you buy a Re:Designed item, it’s meant to be used and cherished for years to come!

The Project 39 bag is their most popular project bag. It holds several skeins of yarn, has inside and outside pockets, and can be carried with long or short straps. We have several colors arriving any day now! Here you see our dark green one filled with just a small sample of the Cascade 220 Superwash Merino that arrived this week.

This Cascade yarn is 100% Merino which makes it nice and soft! Plus, it’s superwash so it’s handy for children’s clothing and accessories. We have oodles of new colors so give yourself plenty of browsing time when you come in to get some! We also restocked Cascade Woolpaka, an Aran weight yarn that’s a blend of 60% wool and 40% alpaca. Yummy!

We have a small notions area by the winding table that I often overlook. I imagine I’m not the only one so I took a closer look at it the other day and it’s chock full of handy, practical items! The Twice Sheared sheep Quick Gauge allows you to check both your knitting and crochet gauge and there’s a ruler along one side. The darling little Ess Knits sweater needle sizers are laser cut here in Colorado. There’s also a spot for locking stitch markers!

A bar of delicately scented Tuft Woolens Sock Soap can be used on all of your woolen items. Put your items in a washbowl, fill it with cool water, and submerge them until they become fully saturated. Lather the soap in your hands and distribute it throughout the water. Let your items soak for 10 - 20 minutes. You don’t have to rinse but you can if you want to.

Often having a reminder of how to do something right at hand makes life so much easier. Katrinkles’ mini tools fill that need! We have four of them: Cable Cast On, Brioche Basics, Garter Stitch Kitchener, and German Short Rows. I picked up one of the German Short Row tools for a friend. Now I have to remember to give it to her!

Barber Cords! Oh my, how I love these! They make it so easy to hold stitches! You push the cord onto the needle tip and slide your stitches onto it and reverse the process when you’re ready for them to go back on your needles. Each container comes with three cords, a 60” one and two 30” ones.

Last we come to our newest needles, Knit Pro Stelo. Give these a try when you need a new needle! The cables are lightweight and won’t kink, the taper of the needle won’t split yarn, and yarn will glide smoothly along the needle. I was particularly impressed with the cable!

We invite you to the shop to see all of our goodies that you may have overlooked!

Happy knitting,
