Happy HipKnit Yarn!

My Sister Knits is the only yarn shop in the United States to carry our newest yarn, Hip Knit, from Norway! Julie has had her eye on this yarn for quite awhile and it’s finally on the way to us! We’re expecting it any day and hopefully it will be here by the time you read this!

The Hip Knit yarn colors and patterns are so cheerful; it makes you happy just to look at them! We’re getting two bases: Hip Wool is an aran weight 100% non-superwash wool from Patagonian sheep and Fluff, a super bulky weight blend of 78% mohair, 13% Merino wool, and 9% nylon.

We think this Fishy Sweater is ‘totes adorbs’! This sweater is available for both children and adults. Think how fun it would be to have one fish swimming against the others in a different color!

The Vanilla Sweater is simple and classic with a suggested 8” of positive ease. This will work up quickly with a gauge of 12 stitches over 4 inches and a size 10.5 needle! Just imagine how soft and cozy it would be to wear!

This darling Fruity Sweater is also available for both children and adults. The pattern is indeed stranded colorwork and not intarsia, in case you’re wondering. There are tips in the pattern to help. You could also work the dots and stems with duplicate stitch.

The Northern Lights Sweater can be worked in two colors or six colors! This mix of colors would surely bring a smile to the face of the wearer!

The patterns are written a little bit differently than we’re used to. We can help you decipher anything that might be confusing. We can also help you find other patterns that would be gorgeous with these two yarns, just ask!

We now have a wall dedicated to Spin Cycle Dyed in the Wool! We have some new colors and have restocked others. There are some vibrant ones that will make glorious summer projects! Dyed in the Wool is categorized as a sport weight but we find that it also works well in patterns that call for fingering weight yarn.

If you’d like to look at what you can make with this Spincycle yarn, there are 29,000 projects listed on Ravelry and 91 pages of pattern ideas!

Reminder: Tuesday Knit Night will start again on May 6th! You’re welcome to come anytime and stay until 8pm when we close!

Happy knitting,
