My Sister Knits' Fresh Look!

Exciting things are afoot at My Sister Knits!  There has been much moving of furniture, pushing and pulling of movable shelving carts, and general upheaval on our main level!  

After many years Julie wanted to change some things so they were more to her liking.  We love the fresh look and the possibilities of the new space!

We replaced the diamond-shaped cubbies that filled the wall to your left as you walk into the shop and also those that were under the window.  They were a great idea at the time but we wanted a more unified look to the shop.  

The carpet that was under our community knitting table was so much fun to take out; it was gone in no time!  

It’s still all a work in progress but by the time you read this it will be almost finished!  How we use the new space will evolve over time but right now we’re planning to use it for special yarns.  For instance, currently we have our Forbidden Fibers’ Trunk Show yarn hanging there.  It’s a great spot to showcase new or unusual yarns!

For those of you who head straight to that area to choose your bulky and aran weight yarns, never fear!  Those yarns are still there in the cubbies below the yarn that is hanging on hooks.

We love how easy it is to see the skeins on their hooks rather than having to dig around in the diamond shaped cubbies!  

Just for fun, you’ll want to check out what we do with the floor in the community knitting area!  That is still to be decided.  

A silver lining of having limited hours due to Covid-19 is that it has given us time to spruce up the shop and give it a fresh look!
