Kelsey Stephens, owner of Primrose Yarn Company, has come up with a brilliant idea! Her new yarn, Roan, is a combination of 60% superwash yarn and 40% non-superwash wool.

Volcano Trail, designed by Maxim Cyr, is our latest craze at My Sister Knits! Some of you may have seen the Mini-Unbearable Hoodie on display at the shop. Max designed that as well.

Julie has discovered a special small company called Thread and Maple! T & M is owned by two women, Samantha Perrault and Olga Paskalenko. Samantha lives in Montreal and Olga lives in Toronto.

Wild Mountain Thyme is Thea Colman’s (aka Baby Cocktails) latest design, released this week! It just so happens that we have a sample that’s been waiting in the wings until the pattern was published. It’s now on display!

Normally, our trunk shows at My Sister Knits are composed of garments. This allows us to see how certain yarns look and feel when knit. None of the sample items are for sale but we always carry the yarn showcased in the trunk show.

Since Thanksgiving will be different this year for most of us, we’d like to introduce the Danish concept of Hygge. Hygge (pronounced hue-guh or hoo-gah according to various sources) embodies coziness. It’s an atmosphere that makes a person feel content and comfortable by surrounding themselves with the things that make life good.

We love it when our customers tell us about something fiber-related that they love! Especially when it comes to discovering new independent dyers! Indie dyers somehow manage to give their yarns a different look than all other hand-dyed yarn and it’s fascinating.

A cheerful colorwork project lifts our spirits and we think everyone could use some of that during these crazy times! It seems as if all of us at My Sister Knits has a project with more than one color in it on the needles right now.

Recollect is a plied sport weight yarn that is 100% Rambouillet. Most Rambouillet is white but Farmer’s Daughter’s is 75% white and 25% black. The unusual, hard to find combination of colors creates a gray base resulting in colors that are delightfully rich and rustic.
