Spincycle’s Newest Yarn

Spincycle’s newest yarn, bulky weight Plump, has taken up residence on the landing on our stairs! It’s superwash, resulting in glorious colors. A word of caution though, it needs to be hand washed and dried flat. This colorful woolly goodness is created entirely in the US!

We have three samples in the shop; a hat, a scarf, and a headband. Watching your project grow quickly with bulky weight yarn is so gratifying!  You can hardly put it down while you watch the different colors appear on your needles. You’ll be saying to yourself, “just one more row” over and over!

Top, Wild Lupine Headband, designed by Kate Hudon. Bottom, Sophie Scarf, designed by PetiteKnit, with pom poms!

Check out the project ideas on Ravelry by going to the ‘yarns’ page for Plump. There are two ways to do this. You can choose the ‘yarns’ tab in the upper left of the home page and enter Spincycle Plump in the ‘Search Yarns’ box or, in the Quick Search box on the home page, you can choose ‘yarns’ from the drop- down menu and enter Spincycle Plump in the ‘Search Term’ space. They both get you to the same place!

Once you’re on the Plump page, select either the ‘Pattern Ideas’ or the ‘Projects’ tab and you can see what others are making! There are hats, Liebling Sweaters, Yildiz Pullovers, and Plump Cardis among others on the six pages of projects.

To make it even easier, just click on this link and it will take you to the Plump page! However, it’s good to know how to look for patterns/projects in a certain yarn so go ahead and try it the long way also!

When you purchase any Spincycle yarn, it’s helpful to know a little about the company you’re buying from. In addition to being environmentally conscious, they offer their employees a living wage with scheduled raises, health care, paid vacation, and even a retirement plan. They are training a team of wool millers in order to keep their wool from being sent overseas to be made into yarn. When you realize that your money is supporting all of this, it makes you feel good! A caution here:  I don’t know that other companies don’t do this, I just know that Spincycle does!

We encourage you to come into My Sister Knits and examine our array of Spincycle Plump!
