Gift Ideas Galore!

The countdown to gift giving is here and My Sister Knits has oodles of choices for you! A quick look around the shop the other day provided a wealth of ideas! Here are a few of them ………

Barber Cords are one of the greatest inventions ever! They grip the end of your needle for easy transfer of stitches. For instance, if you’re making a sweater and want to see how long it is, you can transfer the live bottom stitches to the longer of the three cords and try it on! Then you just slide those stitches back onto your needles and you’re ready to go! You can put the sleeve stitches onto each of the two shorter cords, tie the ends together, and they’ll be ready to slide back on your needles to start your sleeves! Fantastically easy!

We have soy candles with the most divine scents from a few different candle makers! Making a decision as to which to buy is hard! You’ll probably want more than one!

Soy candles burn cleaner and longer than parrafin wax candles and soy is an excellent fragrance carrier, which is why they smell so good!

Give an Ito Sensai Shawl for a luxurious gift! When you put one of these lovely shawls on (I have the dusty rose one) they are delightfully warm and lightweight. These are especially cozy because they don’t add bulk around your neck. They’re wide enough to wear over your shoulders, also. They fold up small enough to put in a large purse or even your project bag! We love these!

These Katrinkles Fix It Tool necklaces are a limited edition! Your gift recipient can wear this handy necklace and have all the necessary tools at their fingertips! The 36” chain is long enough to use these without taking it off. There’s a 2” ruler, a tapestry needle, a fix it hook for picking up dropped stitches, and a heart shaped stitch marker!

The Lumos Knitting Light is a must-have addition to your project bag! These are lightweight, soft, flexible, and comfortable enough to wear for hours! There are three light settings, they’re rechargeable, and allow one to knit in low light situations. Lumos lights are also wonderful when you’re knitting with dark yarn or small stitches and they’re made by knitters. Once you’ve chosen the color temperature you want, press and hold the button to adjust the brightness. I tend to forget the last step!

Julie recently discovered the Lemonwood Mini-Minders and we’re swooning over them! She recently used hers when she was going through the car wash! I’ve only had mine for a few days and have used it when knitting at My Sister Knits and a coffee shop. The mini-minder spins easily as you pull your yarn. I hardly know it’s on my arm and it’s great to have my yarn right there instead of down in a project bag.

These are made in Tucson, AZ by two women who have been knitters and friends for years. They’re working hard to keep up with the demand. We’ve put in an order for more and are also getting a larger size. The small ones easily hold a skein of worsted weight. If you come to the shop and we’re sold out, let us know you want one and we’ll notify you when they come in!

Pom Poms are a fun gift to give! We have several different kinds made with various materials. The ones pictured here are keychains. I used to turn my nose up at these huge keychains until I started using a large purse! I can’t believe how much easier it is to find my keys now! Besides key chains, we have regular ones to put on a hat or you could use one at the end of a scarf with pointed ends; the possibilities are limited only by your imagination!

We have more gift ideas for you, just ask when you come in!

Happy knitting,
