Wednesday Skill Sessions(March)

March offerings: Unless otherwise stated - bring a dk or worsted weight yarn and corresponding needles to class.

3/5-Running Markers - Jenny H. - During this Skill Builder session we will be practicing a very practical method of keeping track of your rows as you knit. The only extra “tools” that you will need are a couple of locking stitch markers and a few contrasting bits of yarn. This method is great to use when making cables or even plain old stockinette. Homework: Using a light colored worsted weight yarn and size US 7 or US 8 needles, cast on 30 stitches and knit four rows. Continue knitting your sampler piece in stockinette for three more rows. Bring homework to class. along with 2-3 locking stitch markers.

3/12-Corrugated Ribbing - Elisabeth-Homework:Cast on about 88 stitches of worsted weight yarn on size, US 8, 16 inch circular needles. Join in the round. Knit one round in main color. Bring two balls of worsted weight yarn, contrasting colors. 

3/19- - Cables - Jenny H. This Skill Builder session we will be exploring different ways to make cables. We will also be looking at some of the different cable needle options that are available to us. By the end of the session, you will have a good basic knowledge of making and keeping track of your cables. We will have several different cable needle styles for you to experiment with. Homework: Using a light colored worsted weight yarn and size US 7 or US 8 needles, cast on 20 stitches and knit four rows. Continue knitting your sampler piece in stockinette for three more rows. Bring homework to class.

3/26 - Latvian Braid - Elisabeth - Homework:Cast on about 88 stitches of worsted weight yarn on size US8 16” circular needle. Join in the round. Knit a couple  rows of ribbing of your choice. Bring 2 balls of contrasting colors, worsted weight yarn.
