Wednesday Skill Sessions(May)

For the month of May, we are offering free one-hour long skill sessions; touching on some techniques that are often needed in our knitting. For all of these sessions, please bring light colored worsted weight yarn and appropriate needles to practice with.

5/7- Tubular Cast On - Tiina

5/14- Travel Tool Bag- Jenny H. As we get into the summer travel season, is it time to update your knitting tool kit?  We will be sharing some of our can’t travel without, “go-to” tools. Everything from our favorite retractable tape measures to the shiniest new cable needle and even the new row markers that Julie has gotten in for us.

5/21 - Two Color Decreases - Jenny H It can be tricky to keep your pattern looking neat and tidy when working decreases in your stranded colorwork. We will explore different ways to work these decreases while still maintaining your charted pattern. Homework: Using a light colored worsted weight yarn and size US 7 or US 8 needles, cast 30 stitches and knit four rows. Continue knitting your sampler piece in stockinette for three more rows. Bring homework and a second highly contrasting color with you to class

5/28 - 2x2 Tubular Cast On - Tiina
