The Alchemist Slipover is a fresh take on a sweater vest. It combines a wide-ribbed V neck with I-cord tie finishing. The vest is constructed top-down with short row shaping at the neckline - and length of front and back are both adjustable. Students taking this class should be comfortable knitting and purling; casting on; and have basic pattern reading skills. Previous experience picking up stitches/short rows is helpful - but will be reviewed. Homework involves choosing yarn and purchasing pattern and knitting a swatch to check gauge before we cast on at the first class. In class one - we will read through and mark up our pattern; cast on and learn/work the shoulder short rows and join the two shoulders together; Class two we will cast on the front shoulder and knit and join them to the back piece; Class three - work through the finishing techniques - Picking up the neck line - casting off in stretchy rib pattern; Icord ties.

Materials - Dk weight yarn appropriate for size chosen - Camellia Fibers DK; Salty Blonde DK; Possum DK.

Needles - US 7 and US 6 (neck ribbing) - depending on your gauge

Notions - scissors; Darning needle; stitch markers; highlighter or pen for marking pattern; waste yarn or Barber cords to hold your shoulder pieces.

Pattern - Alchemist Slipover(not Pullover) - Ravelry link here
