The Semper Slipover is a comfortable layer that can be easily styled for different seasons. This pattern features a V-neck that can be single or double layered, and European shoulder shaping with right and wrong side increases (read: no short rows!). In this class, we will cover gauge swatching, interpreting sizing in a pattern and choosing a size to knit based on your measurements and ideal fit. We will also cover the following techniques: right and wrong side shoulder increases, tubular bind off, and center double decreases. This would be a great class for advanced beginners or anyone who is new to making garments. You should be comfortable with knitting in the round prior to taking this class.

Homework required to be completed prior to class:
Prior to class, please gather your supplies, including purchasing your pattern and yarn. Using the recommended needles, cast on approximately 35 stitches using your preferred cast on and knit a swatch in stockinette. Measure your gauge and write it down.
Next, block your swatch. To block a knitting swatch, soak it in lukewarm water with a bit of wool wash for 15-20 minutes, then gently squeeze out excess water without wringing. Lay the damp swatch flat on a towel and allow it to air dry completely. This process helps the fibers relax and settle, giving you a more accurate gauge measurement for your project. Measure your gauge a second time and write those measurements down.
Please sign up by August 5th.
