The Lakes Pullover by Ozetta is a beautiful saddle shoulder sweater with a classic fit. In this class, we will cover gauge swatching, interpreting sizing in a pattern, and choosing a size to knit based on your measurements and ideal fit. We will also cover the following techniques: working flat and in the round, the long-tail and backward loop cast-on methods, increases, decreases, German Short Rows, managing held stitches, picking up new stitches, the sewn tubular bind-off.
This class consists of three sessions intended to offer guidance as you navigate the initial phases of your project. The goal is to build your confidence so you can finish the garment independently, as the full sweater will not be completed during our time together. To participate, you should already be proficient in knitting, purling, and working in the round.

Homework
Prior to class, please gather your supplies, including purchasing your pattern and yarn. Using the recommended needles, cast on approximately 30 stitches using your preferred cast on and knit a swatch in garter stitch. Measure your gauge and write it down.
Next, block your swatch. To block a knitting swatch, soak it in lukewarm water with a bit of wool wash for 15-20 minutes, then gently squeeze out excess water without wringing. Lay the damp swatch flat on a towel and allow it to air dry completely. This process helps the fibers relax and settle, giving you a more accurate gauge measurement for your project. Measure your gauge a second time and write those measurements down.
Please sign up by Sept. 30th.
