Steingass Colorwork Sweater Wokshop(March)

This workshop allows the student to pick one of the Jennifer Steingass colorwork, top down sweaters from the link below. We will learn how to size your sweater correctly and modify the pattern to fit you as well as making color choices, color dominance, increasing in the round and with colorwork, and a tubular bindoff. Colorwork with three colors is an option for those who wish to do so. Class fee includes pattern/yarn consult with Tiina prior to class start. When you sign up for the class; Tiina will contact you to set up a time to meet at the shop before the first class.

What techniques will be taught? Reading patterns, reading charts, hidden increases, modifying patterns. 

What level of knitting knowledge is required to take this class? Adventurous beginner and above- knitting, purling, knitting in the round (Magic Loop or DPNs)

Yarn: Appropriate yarn for your chosen sweater.

Purchase the Steingass pattern you choose. Here is a link to Jennifer Steingass patterns.

Needles: Appropriate needles for your chosen sweater.

Stitch Markers, tapestry needle, scissors, tape measure.

Homework: Make an appointment with Tiina to discuss your sweater and yarn choices. Set up appointment sooner rather than later for the best selection. Swatch to get gauge according to pattern.

Class Materials/Preparation
Class materials may be purchased for 10% discount before the day of the first class -some restrictions may apply.  Project patterns are also available at a 10% discount; no charge for free patterns. Please plan ahead so that we are sure to have what you need and ready for you at your first class!

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the beginning of your class so the teacher may begin promptly.

Class Size
Classes are usually limited to 6  adults -16 years* and above. Class size is often smaller for beginning level classes and other classes where more one-on-one attention is necessary. We may accommodate larger numbers for lecture style classes and workshops by visiting teachers. * Under 16 years of age needs instructor approval

We also offer kids classes for our younger customers.  Parents and kids may wish to schedule a private lesson by calling the store.

Homework
Some classes have homework which needs to be completed prior to the first class.  Please check the class description page for homework required. It is also important that you complete your homework between meetings so classes can progress as scheduled.

Payment
Payment is required at time of registration. We cannot reserve seats for unpaid students. You may sign up online using credit card/Paypal; or someone may assist you signing up in the shop. If the class is full - please call to be put on a wait list.

Missed Classes
We are unable to offer free make-up sessions for missed classes or for cancellations. After payment is taken, we cannot credit your class fee if you cancel less than one week prior to your class. No credit will be given if you cancel for a special event class. 

MSK Cancellation
We may cancel classes with only one student registered 48 hours prior to first class; and store credit or refund will be given.
