Trunk Show Delights!

My Sister Knits’ yarn crawl trunk shows are in the shop! Let the eye candy show begin!

First up, yarn from up-and-coming local dyer Abby of Poppy and Spruce. Abby loves coffee….and her yarn shows it! She has captured the market for coffee colors! Here are a few….

From left to right: Chocolate Frosty-ccino, Cinnabon Delights, Caramel Frappe

Her Spruce sock yarn also comes in sock sets with a mini skein for contrasting toes and heels. When it came to choosing between mohair and Suri alpaca, Abby wanted them both! They have different feels so be sure to squish them to see which you prefer! Looking at the same color in each base also demonstrates how different bases take the same dye; it’s fascinating!

From left to right, both sets: Vanilla Sweet Cream, Medium Roast, Dark Roast

On to Emma’s Yarn! In addition to bringing yarn, Emma included some samples in her trunk show……

The Collins Tee, designed by Emma’s mom Laura Dobratz, is named after Fort Collins!

The Pulp Culture shawl, also designed by Laura Dobratz, uses one of Emma’s Hella Hanks, an extra large skein of 600 yards!

Emma’s Yarn Hella Hanks are 600 yards of 80% Merino, 10% Cashmere, and 10% nylon. We have more samples in the shop!

Emma came up with another unique idea….she takes one skein of her Marvelous Mohair and twists it with one skein of Slubby Slub to create Mo’ Slub! We have a sample of a shawl using this, Mo’ Slub Knit Club, designed by Melissa Kemmerer.

Mo’ Slub! Two full skeins of yarn twisted into one!

We hope you manage to visit the shop before these yarns have departed for their new homes! Although, don’t despair if they’re gone because we still have two trunk shows to go before the yarn crawl is over!

Saturday, August 5th, Rachel from Six and Seven Fiber will be at My Sister Knits from 10 until 2, along with her yarn! Then on Saturday, August 12th, we’ll have our last trunk show with yarn from Woolberry.

We wish you fun on your Hot August Knits yarn-crawling adventures!

Happy knitting,
