Just in Time for Mother’s Day!
My Sister Knits has a brand new yarn just in time for Mother’s Day! We are one of two yarn shops to carry this richly colored yarn from St. Louis, Missouri; Red Door Fibre Studio.
Owner and dyer Kate gives us yarn in “unique and bold colorways that are reminiscent of our favorite fantasy, pop culture, and beloved stories”. Her collections are based on a variety of media: movies, video games, TV shows, illustrations and such.
Party Fluff yarn
Kate goes about dyeing her yarn in a different way than usual. She releases themed batches of colorways throughout the year. Her current theme is KPop Demon Hunters, a Netflix movie released in June, 2025. It’s a blend of Korean pop music and ancient folklore. The movie won Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song (Golden) at the 2026 Golden Globe Awards and the 2026 Academy Awards.
Bounce Sock solids
You’ll find one variegated colorway named ‘Heels, Nails, Blade, Mascara’ and a solid named ‘A Demon Boy Band?’. Look for other whimsical names when you’re in the shop!
Even though this yarn is Superwash Merino, Kate suggests hand washing and laying flat to dry. She says this will ensure that your knitted piece will last for years to come. However, if you’d rather put it in the machine, she says to put it on the gentlest cycle and always lay it flat to dry.
Bounce Sock variegated
Bounce Sock is a 2 phy fingering weight blend of 80% Superwash Merino and 20% Nylon.
Party Fluff is also a fingering weight and is a blend of 42% Merino, 32% Alpaca, 18% Neon Donegal Nep, and finally 8% linen. What a rare combination of fibers!
We have a sample, the Juice Sweater designed by Veronika Lindberg, that has one strand of Bounce Sock and one strand of Party Fluff held together throughout. You’re going to want to see how the neon neps look in a finished piece!
The colors in this yarn are best appreciated when seen in person, so be sure to come into the shop to see them and to read the rest of the color names!
Happy knitting,
