Thinking of Warm Weather Knitting

My Sister Knits is gearing up for warm weather knitting! One of our newest samples is the Take Turns Tank designed by Lily Kate France. This tank pattern is so well written that I want to look at Lily’s other patterns to see what else she’s designed!

Front of the Take Turns Tank

One example of the care she takes in pattern writing is that she specifically tells us that “left and right means as worn, not as looking at the garment”! She doesn’t leave anything to chance and I was continually impressed with each page I read! If you want to make this tank you can rest easy, knowing that your questions will be answered before you have time to think of them!

Back of the Take Turns Tank

Our sample is made with WoolDreamers Saona, a 50/50 wool/cotton blend with a fuzzy boucle for the stripes. You could use any novelty yarn you might happen to have in your stash or any other yarn that suits your fancy for the back stripes!

A search of My Sister Knits provided several options of yarn for warm weather knitting.

Knitting for Olive Cotton Merino, light fingering weight

Knitting for Olive Pure Silk, fingering weight

Cascade Yarns Botanika, sport weight

Cascade Yarns Ultra Pima, DK weight

Blue Sky Fibers Organic Cotton, worsted weight

As you can see, there is a weight to fit your needs and so many colors! Some bold, some subtle and delicate. What would you like to make to prepare for the warm weather that’s on its way? A summer tee or lightweight sweater? A spring/summer poncho or scarf? Baby items? We’ll be delighted to help you find the perfect project!

Reminders

Knitting Day is Friday, April 26th from 10 - 4. If you’re knitting a cowl for Spincycle’s Cowlgirl KAL, bring it! I’ll be working on mine!
