New Arrivals Keep Coming!
My Sister Knits’ eagerly anticipated shipments from HipKnitShop in Norway have arrived! We are the only shop in the United States to carry this fun yarn. It’s fun for several reasons. The colorways put a smile on your face, their patterns written for their yarn are joyful and whimsical, and the Hip Wool and Fluff knit up quickly!
Fun colorways of Hip Wool abound!
Hip Wool is an aran weight 100% Peruvian wool from Highland sheep. They’re a crossbreed of Corriedale and Merino and are known for their softness and strength. As soft as it is, this yarn is durable and will withstand wear and tear! Fluff is Super Bulky but is so lightweight that it feels as light as dandelion fluff whether you’re knitting or wearing it. It’s a blend of 78% mohair, 13% Merino, and 9% nylon which makes it a strong yarn also.
Cuddle Me Cotton colors are deeply saturated.
We’ve added DK weight Cuddle Me Cotton to our collection of HipKnitShop yarn. There are 5 colors in the photo but 7 more came in today! The base for this yarn is Pima cotton. If you remember from last week’s post, it creates a softer fabric than common or regular cotton and takes dye beautifully. If you’re a fan of the Emily in Paris TV show, you just might fall in love with their Emily (in Paris) Sweater for summer!
Sometimes you want a new project but don’t want to make all the decisions involved. That’s when a kit is the perfect solution! We have a selection of HipKnitShop kits for you! Dancing in the Dark sweater is one that we have in black, navy, and burgundy. This is a cozy, roomy pullover with a slight A shape. Another is the Island Vest in yellow/tan and light pink/dark pink, also roomy and with wide sleeve openings. Most of HipKnitShop’s patterns are oversized rather than close fitting. We also have kits for mittens and the Milan scarf.
The Spring 2026 issue of Laine magazine has arrived! As we’ve come to expect, it’s filled with gorgeous photos, new patterns, and informative articles. This issue features 16 patterns for summer with interesting information on each designer. There is an in-depth article on Finnish designer Ronja Hakalehto who lives in a small village close to the Arctic Circle. There are 3 sweater patterns that I particularly like. Seafoam Cables is the first one I’d make. I don’t know if I’d get to any of the others because it’s a fingering weight with all over cables but such a glorious sweater! Feel free to browse through a copy and decide to take one home just for the pleasure of reading through this exceptional magazine.
Happy knitting,
