Have You Seen the New Splendid Colors?

My Sister Knits received a shipment of two huge boxes last week. We’ve been excitedly waiting for this yarn to arrive! The big question was, “where are we going to put it?”. Our elves, aka Tiina and Alex, worked and worked and our display looks amazing!

Knitting for Olive Merino

Our entire wall by the window upstairs is now filled with a glorious array of Knitting for Olive Merino and Soft Silk Mohair! We have greatly increased our color options for your creative endeavors! There are some fabulously vibrant colors along with beautifully saturated muted hues.

Knitting for Olive Merino

We just love these yarns from Pernille Larsen and her daughter Caroline! Pernille started designing knitting patterns when her first grandchild was born. She started selling them when her second grandchild was born! Later, Pernille and Caroline made the decision to create yarns that they are passionate about and now we have lovely Knitting for Olive Merino and Soft Silk Mohair!

Knitting for Olive Merino

Their Merino comes from sheep in Patagonia and can be traced back to the farm it came from. The yarn is spun in Italy and finally ends up in Copenhagen, Denmark at the family-run business that is Knitting for Olive.

Knitting for Olive Soft Silk Mohair

Their Soft Silk Mohair comes from Angora goats in South Africa! Again, it can be traced back to the farm it came from. Mulberry silk is used in combination with the mohair. The silkworms are allowed to mature into moths and fly away, then the silk fibers are collected from the abandoned cocoons and processed locally in South Africa. I particularly like the fact that no silkworms are harmed!

When you come in to check out Knitting for Olive for your next project, be sure to ask us about their Color Match information! They’ve come up with several colors of Soft Silk Mohair to go with each color of Merino!
