See and Squish!
We found this gorgeously vibrant yarn in Chicago this past summer. The reason the colors are so magnificent is that it has 40% silk blended with the mohair. Usually there is less silk blended with mohair. We love all of our mohair yarns but there is something special about Sensai.
Sensai comes in dear little bundles of 20g/262 yards which makes it so easy to buy just the amount you need!
This delicate, yet strong, yarn can be used by itself, knit with two strands held together, or combined with any other yarn for an extra luxurious project!
There are 53 pages of pattern ideas using Sensai on Ravelry and 8400 projects using it. This pattern by Cecelia Campochiaro was designed for Sensai. Think of the fun you’d have picking out colors! Cecelia used size 4 needles and it doesn’t take too long to get used to working with two strands held together to create a marled fabric.
I want to cast on a new project just so I can choose a Sensai color to go with it! I might just make the Churchmouse Classic Mohair Bias Loop, designed by Kit Hutchin, using two colors.
We have another new yarn for you. This one is at the opposite of the weight categories! It’s worsted weight 100% Merino Misha and Puff! Oh my, it’s so soft and squishy! As with all hand-dyed yarns, be sure to buy enough for your project at one time. Each skein of hand-dyed can be a little different and each batch can be even more different!
Misha and Puff yarn is certified by the Responsible Wool Standard of the Textile Exchange. The RWS sets standards for animal welfare, land management, and social requirements. You can read more about it here.
Anna Wallack and Ashley Rao, the inspiration behind Misha and Puff, have a variety of designs to go with their yarn! Here are some project ideas from their yarn page on Ravelry.
