All Sorts of Fun!
We have all sorts of fun things to tell you about this week!
Tour de Fat Saturday, Sept. 3rd, 9:30 to 11:30
Mark your calendars! New Belgium’s annual summer bike parade has been cancelled for the last two years. It’s been sorely missed and this year it’s back!! This super fun, colorful, high-energy costumed bike parade goes right past My Sister Knits! It’s a sight to behold and not to be missed!
We invite everyone to bring their families and lawn chairs, hang out in our front yard, and enjoy the fun! We’ll even have a coffee cart set up on the driveway from 9:30 to 11:30. We caution you to come early to get parking on side streets, as Mountain Ave. is the parade route. Sometimes it can be tricky to get to us but it’s worth it! It is so much fun!
Draw Your Discount
Friday, July 29th, and Saturday, July 30th we have something fun going on: when you purchase any full-price yarn, you get to draw a mystery discount of up to 30% off!
Plied yarn has arrived!
We’ve been eagerly awaiting this shipment! This unique, non-superwash yarn is spun at Harrisville Designs in New Hampshire and hand-dyed in Baltimore. Fingering weight North Avenue is a two-ply yarn. The individual plies are first spun, then dyed, and then two colors are spun together to create a marled yarn. Ann and Karida, the creative geniuses behind this yarn, have created something truly unusual!
We have a trunk show right now with several items you’ll want to see! In addition, the kits of Plied have arrived for the Trail Point hat!
Watch for:
The Fibre Co. has a lovely new yarn coming out in September. It’s an Aran weight 50/50 blend of wool and alpaca and it is so soft! You might want to browse Ravelry for Aran weight projects to plan your first fall project with this.
How do you do that? Go to Ravelry, choose ‘patterns’ in the upper left, then choose ‘Advanced Search’ under the Search Patterns box. On the page that comes up, there will be a column for you to filter your search, navigate to the Weight box and choose Aran. As I write this, there are 171,369 patterns to choose from! You can play around with other filters to further narrow your search.
Happy knitting,
