Fun and Functional Della Q Products!
Della Q has been creating high-quality products for years! As the brand continues to grow and evolve, there is always something new to ooh and aah over!
We just unpacked our latest shipment and you can now find Della Q treasures throughout My Sister Knits!
We have items from several of their collections: Lotus|Maker’s Canvas, Everyday, Oh Snap, and Fabric Prints.
From the Lotus|Maker’s Canvas collection, we have Backpacks, Roll Tops, and Totes. These Maker bags have unique details such as a yarn feeder, yarn cutter, a teensy dot journal, and even a few emergency stitch markers!
I have a backpack that I recently took across Ireland. It was perfect! It held as much as I wanted it to and I kept cramming in more. You can see the bags from the Oh Snap collection that were so helpful in keeping me organized.
Two details on the outside of this bag I especially liked were 1) the carrying handles in addition to the straps and 2) the fact that there was no pocket on the front to entice thieves in crowded situations. This bag was not treated gently and finished the trip looking as nice as when it started! In short, I love it!
We have an assortment of all of the items in the Everyday collection: Buddy Cases, Canvas Needle Cases, Circular Needlecases, and the iconic Train Cases. These are filled with nooks and crannies to keep your notions organized!
The Oh Snap collection has a plethora of bags made out of mesh with multiple designs to choose from. You can see what’s in these bags, always a helpful advantage! The snap closures are snag-free and easy to use. As I mentioned above, I used three of these lovelies on my trip. I enjoyed having the snaps instead of a zipper. They were easy to open with one hand and they’re snag-free, enabling me to use two yarns at once from the same bag! I feel like a walking salesman for Della Q products; I love them!
Now we get to the Fabric Prints collection. I’ve had the Hanging Circular Needle Organizer for at least 10 years - and so has Carol! This case has numbered slots for needles sized 000 to 17. Each slot holds many needles with any length cord.
We have more! You’ll have to pay us a visit and go on your own treasure hunt to see what other goodies we have!
Knit Companion Class
Knit Companion is a game changer! It’s an app for use with any knitting project and it can be customized for your particular needs. It can store your patterns, keep track of your progress with either charts or text, and give you reminders. There are video tutorials. There are knitting calculators that, for instance, give you instructions to taper a sleeve using your gauge and desired sleeve length (invaluable for those of us with short arms) and other helpful calculations. Plus, the basic program is free!
Knit Companion can be a bit daunting at first. Fortunately, we have a class to get you started!
This is a one-session class offered on Tuesday, August 9th from 6 - 8pm.
Watch For:
We have more CoCo Knits Maker’s Boards on the way. Every surface is magnetic and the angle for display is adjustable. These are so helpful for chart reading! They also are ergonomically advantageous as they relieve stress on your neck from looking down at your pattern.
Julie loves CoCo Knits Kraft Bins in all sizes, so they are also on their way!
Reminder
Friday, July 29th is our monthly Knitting Day from 10 until 4! This month’s theme is Try a New Yarn. The idea is for you to make something out of a yarn you haven’t tried before. Our themes are always optional; if you have a project you want to work on, bring it! This is a fun day to give yourself knitting time with no interruptions. Join me, enjoy some breakfast treats and some afternoon chocolate, and stay as long as you’re able! You’ll be glad you did!
Happy knitting,
