Brooklyn Tweed Trunk Show

Our latest Brooklyn Tweed trunk show will be at the shop for just a few more days!  One of the best ways for a yarn company to showcase their various yarns is to create a collection of samples and then send these samples to yarn shops.  We get to see and feel the yarns in finished projects!

The Winter 2019 Brooklyn Tweed samples have been making their way around the country and have finally landed at My Sister Knits!  There are five yarns featured in this treasury of designs:

Vale

A 2-ply worsted spun lace weight yarn made from American Rambouillet wool.  The sheep who give us this wool live in Wyoming and it is dyed and spun in Maine.

Peerie

A 4-ply worsted spun fingering weight yarn made from Merino wool.  These sheep live in Utah and Nevada and this yarn is spun and dyed in Maine.

Loft

A 2-ply woolen spun fingering weight yarn made from a combination of Targhee and Columbia sheep.  These sheep hail from Wyoming, the yarn is dyed in Philadelphia and spun in New Hampshire.

Arbor

A 3-ply worsted spun DK weight yarn made from Targhee sheep who live in Montana and South Dakota.  Arbor is spun in Maine and dyed in either Maine or Philadelphia.

Shelter

This is Loft’s big sister in a worsted weight yarn, the same in every way except weight!

The designs in this collection have elements that will appeal to everyone!  You can choose from colorwork, cables, and textured stitches. You can choose your favorite weight of yarn from lace to worsted!  There are projects that vary in size and scope from pullovers to hats.

Brooklyn Tweed’s patterns are thorough!  They involve detailed schematics; specific instructions for stitches used in the pattern, abbreviations, and special techniques; construction notes; and an informational skill level rating.  The patterns are long and are written to ensure success. Each one can be treated as a sort of mini-class!

We encourage you to come in to feel and try on the samples!  This trunk show has to be shipped on to the next yarn shop soon so don’t wait!
