My Sister Knits Lending Library!
My Sister Knits now has a lending library!
We thought it would be a tremendous addition to the shop to have an assortment of books that our customers can check out! This way you can take a book home and peruse it at your leisure. When you’re finished, bring it back for someone else to enjoy!
There are check out cards in the front of each book. Simply write your name, phone number, and the date on the card and hand it to whoever is working!
We have a wide selection already and we’re just now beginning to create our library. Our criteria for choosing the books is that we love them and think others will benefit from them in some way. We certainly want book suggestions from you!
Julie and Diana brought some new ones back from their trip to KnitCity in Vancouver, BC. There are two utterly beautiful books with designs by British designer Marie Wallin who specializes in Fair Isle colorwork. Even if you don’t ever plan to knit colorwork, the photographs in these books are worth drooling over on a fall evening!
If you’ve wanted to read the history of Selbuvotter knitting, check out the book and become amazed and inspired by this Nordic tradition.
We have stitch dictionaries! And Arne and Carlos’ colorful and enchanting knitted birds book to warm your heart and make you smile! And the thorough and invaluable Vogue Knitting book! And the list goes on….
We want you to come in and literally check them out!
We just have two requests.
The first is that you limit yourself to one book at a time.
The second is that if you see a pattern that you love, please purchase it rather than copying it from the book. The designer worked hard to develop that pattern and deserves payment. We strongly discourage copying of patterns in any way as it just isn’t fair to the creative mind who put time and effort into the design, writing it out, having it tech edited, photographing it, and anything else that went into publishing it.
We hope to see you in the shop browsing through our collection and choosing something to take home for your reading enjoyment and edification!
