Shibui Knits + Les Garcons Collaboration

My Sister Knits has a trunk show with five never-before-seen designs and three brand new colors! We are the first yarn shop to display these items; the patterns were published Thursday, January 13th.

Shibui Knits and Les Garcons collaborated to create these pieces designed to fit everyone. Toward that end, their sweaters have girth measurements for the chest and arm which allows the knitter to pick the exact size they want, whether for males or females. The decreases on the sleeves are also customizable and the patterns are full of notes to ensure success!

Vincent and Max aka les garcons © boutiquelesgarcons

Max Cyr and Vincent Deslandes (also known as Delz) are the brains behind these garments and accessories. This trunk show exhibits their clever, non-gendered designs inspired by the Canadian winterscape.

Max and Delz also are the artistic talent who created the three new colors used in this collection. Soiree is a grey, inspired by cold winter nights by the fire. Boreal, dark green with hints of blue, is reminiscent of the Canadian forests where they grew up. Rose is a muted pink with hints of grey. Interestingly, it appears more grey when paired with Soiree and more pink when paired with Boreal. These muted colors are perfect for winter!

Whispers

Whispers is a pullover that uses wide three-inch stripes of either Nest or Haven. The stripes are subtle and create visual interest that makes you take a second look to see what’s going on with the sweater!

Wind Whistles

Wind Whistles is softer than soft and is the only piece in the collection knit with two yarns held together throughout. Pebble and Silk Cloud are a combination that creates a lightweight fabric with a lovely halo. This sweater will hone your brioche skills!

Night and Day

If you’d rather test out your brioche on a smaller project, then Night and Day is what you want. It’s a cowl made with two colors of Nest. Two colors with a strong contrast work best for this accessory. The display sample uses Soiree and Rose. We think it would also be spectacular in Boreal and Rose.

Positive Vibes

The last two items in the trunk show are a colorwork scarf and fingerless mitts set, Positive Vibes. Max and Vincent have produced an intriguing graphic design using Haven. It would be so much fun to watch this pattern develop on your needles!

We invite you into the shop to see these pieces through January 22nd!

Take a look at our calendar to see which events you’d like to attend!
