Our November classes are an enjoyable way to expand your knitting skills and meet new friends! We have an array of classes for your benefit. Don’t worry if you think the class might be beyond your current skills.  There’s only one way to find out! If it’s something that you dearly want to do, take the class!

Inclination Cowl

We have a one-day class on Saturday, November 20th that will teach you how to make one of our favorites, the Inclination Cowl. This is an elegant cowl that only uses knit and purl stitches. On each row, you purl one more stitch than the row before. The resulting design is striking! We have made this cowl in several different weights and types of yarn. The class calls for worsted weight yarn which will knit up quickly. Take this class if you’d like more experience with pattern reading, joining in the round, and identifying knit and purl stitches. You’ll be so impressed with your finished cowl that you may want to make a few for gifts!

Sildra Mitt

Sildra Mitt

If you’d like to delve into colorwork, the class for you is the Sildra Mitts. These are traditional Norwegian colorwork mittens, using two colors of worsted weight yarn. This class has two sessions, Tuesday evenings November 9th and 16th. You will learn about color dominance, how to follow a chart, make a thumb gusset, and the German Twisted Cast On, also known as the Old Norwegian cast on. This is a super fun cast on and will have you feeling quite proud of yourself! You’ll end up with a stunning pair of mittens!

Fixing Mistakes

Would you be a happier knitter if you could fix some of your mistakes?  We all make them, we just need to learn how to identify and fix them! We offer this class every month. It’s one session on a Saturday.  This month it’s on the 20th. This class will transform your knitting!

On Tuesdays, we have a technique class from 5 - 6pm that focuses on a certain technique each week. Show up and surprise yourself with what you might learn!

In addition to classes, we have a couple of enjoyable and interesting events for you to add to your calendar.

Friday, November 19th is Work on a WIP (Work In Progress) Day! Join others for the whole day or just an hour or two and make some progress on a current project! Give yourself the gift of time at the shop to knit without interruption. As usual, we’ll have breakfast treats, chocolate in the afternoon, and good conversation! I have so many WIPs I’m not sure which one I’ll work on yet! Call the shop at 970.407.1461 to let us know you’re coming. It’s a no-cost event and anyone is welcome at any point during the day but it’s nice to know approximately how many people will be coming.

Such a pretty lace pattern!

Tuesday, November 30th join me in a Knitting Conversation about demystifying lace. If you’d love to make a project with some lace but are hesitant because it looks complicated, this Conversation will give you confidence! I will show you how to read a chart, give my tips on making charts easier to follow, will explain the basic stitches and their abbreviations, and how to block your finished project to show off the beautiful lace detail.  I will also have ideas for some easy basic lace projects to get you started. It’s all a matter of increases and decreases to make pretty designs!

Classes and events are a wonderful way to engage with our knitting community. You can meet other knitters, learn something new, and generally have a good time!

Happy knitting,
