The Colorwork Cuff Club is a new set of patterns from Summer Lee, with a single base sock pattern and a new colorwork chart released monthly. August features two charts - the main chart features a charming flower design and the bonus chart consists of rows of alternating colored diamonds.

The base pattern recommends a US 1 for the body of the sock and a US 2 for the colorwork. If you prefer a different needle size when knitting socks, bring that size needle plus a needle one size bigger for the colorwork.

The number of yarn colors you need may vary depending on your chosen chart. The August chart uses two colors - a main color and a contrast color. The bonus August chart uses up to six colors - a main color and five contrast colors.

Sock yarns are perfect for these projects - Salty Blonde, Circus Tonic, Blacker Bamboozle. Or get creative with a solid main color and self-striping for the contrast (Must Stash Yarn or Two Sisters). 100 gram of each color are enough for the main August chart with leftovers. The bonus August chart is perfect for a 100 g. main color and a set of minis, like the Molly Klein Designs/Sweet Tea Yarns sets.
