This adorable kid’s sweater is a great way to learn sweater construction on a smaller scale. Johanna will teach you about getting gauge, learning the basic stitch terms, adding new colors, keeping track of rows; putting together a basic sweater with mattress stitch, and picking up stitches for neckline. The finished product will result in a great gift the recipient will love! Advanced beginners knowing how to knit, purl, cast on, bind off and do simple increase/decrease will have success here.
Yarn: Johanna’s sweater uses 4 different colors of Quince/Lark or a comparable worsted weight. You will use almost a full 50g skein of two of the colors. There will be a little left of the other two colors. Total yardage needed 500 to 600 yards of this weight.
Needles: Size 5 and size 7 as recommended.
Tapestry needle and markers.
