Andrea Mowry aka dreareneknits, has designed a pattern to celebrate the annual Flock Fiber Festival in Seattle, Washington July 31st through August 2nd! The first year of this festival was 2023 and it has grown tremendously each year since. I saw a couple of people I know from My Sister Knits when I went last year!

This vest is an ideal project for this time of year; it won’t overheat you like a sweater would and it can be worn as soon as you finish it and into winter.

We love the growing popularity of vests! They’re easy to wear in a wide range of temperatures and you only have to make a front and a back, no sleeves!

Our latest sample at My Sister Knits is made from HipKnitShop Hip Wool. This is a soft, pliable, aran weight 100% wool yarn. Also, it’s a single ply so it’s light and airy. 

It looks like winter, such as it was, is behind us and it’s time for vest weather! Vests and slipovers are classic pieces perfect for transitioning to warmer weather. They’re trending right now and there’s a good reason for that. How nice to have a garment to layer over whatever top you’re wearing when you need a little something extra but not too much.

There’s a sample at My Sister Knits that has caught my eye for quite a while. It’s the Roma Vest designed by Mochiknits, using Circus Tonic Merino Possum. Now, I don’t wear vests, or I haven’t until I saw this one! The details are exquisite, as are the buttons and the yarn. This vest would be a 3 season staple to anyone’s wardrobe! I’d love to throw it over whatever I have on as I get cooler in the evening. Sometimes a sweater is too much.
