Spincycle Yarns’ Dream State is a hot commodity in the knitting world right now!
Thanks to all of the recent patterns featuring Dream State, this unique and colorful yarn is flying off the shelves!
Andrea Mowry designed several garments that use Spincycle Yarns and two in particular use Dream State. Nightshift, a shawl, uses Dream State throughout and The Throwback, a cardigan, has a yoke that uses Dream State.
Andrea Rangel designed a cardigan, Dissent, in honor of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Gingsburg. Dream State is used for the yoke.
Caitlin Hunter, of Boyland Knitworks, created a cozy pullover, Koivua. Dream State is used both for the yoke and the stranded colorwork in the body of the sweater.
Adrea Mowry’s Nighshift was published in October and in only a few months there have been over 1200 projects posted on Ravelry!
A quick look at Ravelry gives us more information about how popular Dream State is! The Throwback was published in August and 968 projects have been posted. Dissent came out in November and there are 105 projects posted. Koivua just came out in February and there are already 91 projects posted!
Kate and Rachel, the ‘spinsters’ of Spin Cycle Yarns, have created a distinctive yarn that is like no other! Knitters love this yarn for the extraordinary colors and the fact that it comes from US sheep and is spun and dyed here. Skeins within dye lots can vary significantly and that is part of the yarn’s charm!
If you want a smaller project to try out a skein or two of Dream State, Kate and Rachel’s Aries hat calls for two skeins.
Dami Hunter of Magpie Fibers designed her Bellingham hat using one skein of Magpie Fibers Domestic Worsted and one skein of Spincycle Yarns sport weight Dyed in the Wool held double. Dream State can easily be substituted for the Dyed in the Wool and held single.
Any small project that calls for two colors would be perfect to try out Dream State; we’d love to help you find one!
We invite you to come into the shop and spend some time deciding which colorway is your favorite before they’re all gone!
