Have Fun with Colorful Socks from Charlotte Stone!

If you or someone you know is a sock knitter, My Sister Knits has two books for you! They’re both by Charlotte Stone, creator of Stone Knits. Charlotte’s passion is colorwork and her designs are delightful. Each book has 25 patterns for fun and whimsical socks.

Charming Colorwork Socks is her first book, published in 2022. There are several pages of helpful notes before you get to the patterns. Charlotte emphasizes the need to keep your floats loose and to not trap them too often or you might have trouble getting them over your heel.

All of the patterns are knit from the top down. She uses several types of heels: short row, slipped stitch, ribbed, traditional heel flap and gusset, and Eye of the Partridge.

Her second book, Joyful Colorwork Socks, was published in 2024. Her designs are whimsical and fun. She has Pizza Night socks with pepperoni on them! And socks with teapots and teacups.

Either one of these books would be the perfect present for a sock knitter, or even a knitter just thinking about making socks. The photos are fun, the colorwork graphs are large and easy to read, and the instructions are thorough.

We invite you to look at the patterns in these books even if you aren’t a sock knitter. It’s easy to imagine how much fun it would be to wear a pair!
