Wee creatures

The promise of Spring and the lambing season has us thinking about baby animals.  And our friends must have the same idea.  A couple of darling little samples that recently arrived in the shop may have you wanting to knit a little stuffed animal too!chickens01Our friend Tedi created this little flock for Julie. The Rowan pattern of Janice Anderson's for these cheeky chicks can be found here.  Tedi used up various bits of stash yarn for this project and tried her hand at embroidery for the wings and other markings. We've named them Esther, Ernie & Enid and decided that they are Easter Chickens.  With the holiday still a month away, you may also have time to create a little Easter Bunny.bunny 2016Our friend Carol H. brought in this little friend to our Community Knit Night a couple of weeks ago and we became smitten.Susan Anderson has created two patterns for bunnies created with fingering weight sock yarn: the original bunny and the mini.  Each pattern requires less than a skein of yarn and could easily be created with scraps that you have from previous projects.  Using up leftover yarn, you'd create a bright striped bunny full of character! We have many other ideas for fun critter projects, so if you think that you'd like to cast on for a new little friend, stop by the shop this week and we'll find the perfect project for you.
