Exclusive Yarn Crawl Pattern!
Each shop participating in the Hot August Knits Yarn Crawl has designed a pattern exclusively for the yarn crawl; another reason to start planning your yarn crawl adventure!
My Sister Knits' pattern is the Skyline Cowl, created by our own talented designer Amelia Velarde. Skyline is a reversible, lightweight cowl that uses Shibui Cima and Pebble held together to create the exact fabric Amelia wanted! She loves Shibui and was excited to design a pattern using their yarns. The design of this versatile cowl represents the Denver skyline with its varying building heights.
We chose alternative yarns that would be perfect for this cowl also. Fall is coming so we used the Fall 2016 Pantone colors as a guide for our color selection. 
Starting with the pink at the bottom and traveling clockwise, we chose Anzula Cricket in Hyacinth, Shibui Maai in Brick, Anzula Cricket in Candied Apple, Rosy Green Wool's cheeky merino joy in Sunflower, Anzula Cricket in Peacock, Dovestone DK in yorkstone, Madelinetosh Tosh Merino DK in Reindeer, Quince Phoebe in Uranus and lastly, Anzula Cricket in Blueberry.
Your yarn crawl preparation list:
- Decide if you’re going to go with friends or have a solo experience. Jenny did it by herself a few years ago and had a blast!
- Choose your dates as you’ll need more than one day.
- Plan your routes.
- Plan your lunch stops.
- Make sure your car has gas!
The yarn crawl is such a terrific opportunity to see yarn shops that you don’t usually visit. It’s also a fun way to give yourself the gift of doing something out of the ordinary!The Yarn Crawl dates are Saturday July 30th through Sunday, August 14th; we hope to see you!
