Make It Tweed New Colors!

Hello everyone! I hope you enjoyed the “Postcards from…” posts while I was away on my adventures to Switzerland and England. I certainly had fun writing them and learning about so many of our knitwear sweater styles.

Today we are back to just plain fun eye candy, nothing serious or historical. While I was gone, My Sister Knits received an order of Make It Tweed new colors!

Make It Tweed was created to be held with another yarn. If you hold it with a fingering weight yarn, the result will still be fingering weight; the same with DK or any other weight.

Make It Tweed, as the name suggests, adds a tweedy element to your fabric. If a fabric has small spots of different colored thread in it, it’s considered a tweed. That’s exactly what Make It Tweed does!

You can add it to any yarn for any project! We have added it to sweaters, hats, scarves, socks, anything we can think of! We love the new colors and none of us can decide which we like the best.

There are yarns all over the shop, in all weights, that will look great with the new colors.

Our suggestion is to grab a Make It Tweed color that you like and wander around with it, trying it out with different weights and colors. These photos all used Knitting for Olive Merino with Make It Tweed.

If you’d like to see how it looks in projects other than our shop samples, there are 30 pages of projects on Ravelry!

Rico Design is the company that produces Make It Tweed and they’re based in Germany. The fibers used are 35% Rayon, 35% Acrylic, and 30% Nylon. It’s totally different from the natural fibers we love but it’s fun to add some variety now and then!

We invite you to come in and see which color you can’t wait to use!

Happy knitting,
